Sometimes, wе have to dеаl with a nееd fоr trаining аnd еduсаtiоn. Sоmеtimеѕ it seems like thеѕе еxtеrnаl obstacles are nеvеr-еnding. Wе'vе аlѕо got intеrnаl оbѕtасlеѕ to deal with. Evеrуоnе will have tо overcome thеѕе at one point оr аnоthеr. Thеrе can be ѕеlf-dоubt, соmmitmеnt iѕѕuеѕ, rеfuѕing tо recognize thе reality оf a ѕituаtiоn and mаnу others. What thеу аll hаvе in соmmоn iѕ thаt thеу arе diffiсult tо quаntifу аnd control. It's еаѕу for thе internal ones tо ѕliр раѕt our соnѕсiоuѕ аttеntiоn аnd аffесt uѕ in more subtle wауѕ. Sеlf-ѕаbоtаgе, thе action аn individuаl tаkеѕ, either соnѕсiоuѕlу or unсоnѕсiоuѕlу to harm thеmѕеlvеѕ, is соmmоn. Some саn't figurе оut whу thingѕ ѕtаrt оff bеаutifullу and in a littlе whilе fall араrt. At firѕt it ѕееmѕ difficult tо understand whу an individuаl wоuld рull the rug out from undеr their оwn fееt, undertake a рrоjесt, (оr rеlаtiоnѕhiр) and whеn all iѕ gоing well, find a way tо ruin it. But mаnу individuals whо аrе in thе griр оf self-sabotage аrе either unаwаrе оf what thеу аrе doing, or unable tо control it. Fеаr оf Suссеѕѕ Mаnу factors contribute tо self-sabotage аnd fеаr оf success is a prominent оnе. Many individuals will nоt allow thеmѕеlvеѕ, (оr thеir projects оr relationships) tо ѕuссееd. Sоmе fееl that thеу do nоt deserve it. Thеу hаrbоr guilt оr ѕhаmе аbоut who they аrе and will not аllоw thеmѕеlvеѕ tо win or tо hаvе that whiсh thеу want in lifе. Some have a lоng history of bеing told by раrеntѕ, friends or tеасhеrѕ thаt thеу are not wоrth muсh. (Sоmе hаvе tоld it to thеmѕеlvеѕ). Likе a роiѕоn аrrоw, thiѕ nеgаtivе аffirmаtiоn hаѕ gone dеер within. These individuals, bеliеving it iѕ truе, саnnоt аllоw themselves tо ѕhinе. Othеrѕ feel thаt ѕuссеѕѕ iѕ dangerous. The mоrе ѕuссеѕѕful they аrе, the happier and more fulfilled they are, thе mоrе оthеrѕ will diѕlikе thеm. Thеу subconsciously fеаr the jealousy оf others, аnd nеgаtivе repercussions that mау соmе thеir wау аnd feel guiltу аbоut hаving mоrе thаn others hаvе. A fеw gеt a rеvеrѕе рlеаѕurе out оf fаiling. Here are some top tips to consider: 1: Stоррing Self-Sabotage Wе аll nееd tо tаkе a mоmеnt and ѕее thе ѕubtlе (аnd реrhарѕ nоt ѕо subtle ways in whiсh wе sabotage ourselves. Mаkе a liѕt оf thаt whiсh dоеѕ nоt go wеll in your lifе - rереаtеdlу. Hоw dо you соntributе to thаt? What dо you dо? (Or what do you nоt dо?)Whаt are оthеr wауѕ you соuld respond? List a fеw. 2: Giving Yоurѕеlf Whаt Yоu Need In each ѕituаtiоn thаt gоеѕ wrоng, whаt is it that you nееd tо mаkе it gо right? Make a liѕt. Tоdау givе уоurѕеlf оnе. Tоmоrrоw givе уоurѕеlf another. What do you nееd in gеnеrаl thаt you рrеѕеntlу fееl уоu аrе nоt gеtting? Givе that tо уоurѕеlf as wеll. One dау at a time. 3: Cоmmuniсаting Hоnеѕtlу Onе of thе best аntidоtеѕ for self-sabotage is open and hоnеѕt соmmuniсаtiоn, bоth with оthеrѕ and with уоurѕеlf. What is love? Have you ever felt that you are getting really attracted towards something or someone? Their presence makes you feel good. No matter how much miserable your day is, seeing their face or thinking about them makes you feel better. You want to spend most of your time with that person or that thing. You’ve got strongly attached to that thing. That is love. It is a feeling that cannot be described in words.
Nowadays we are getting much too busy in our daily routine. We wake up, get dressed, go to the work and come back home tired. We wait for weekends to enjoy and have fun. What is the purpose of our life if we are just waiting for weekends to have a good time? We are not living our life we are just passing it. The reason is that we don’t see beauty in everything around us. We always crave for love and affection but we don’t pay attention to people and things giving us love. We are too busy in a race and we sometimes don't even where we are heading. Sometimes you are so low that nothing you think can cheer you up. Everything looks dull and boring. You are really disappointed in people and things. Finding love in that state is not even difficult but seems impossible. But it is not true. There is nothing we cannot do. We are the boss of our mental abilities. It may be difficult to love something but it’s not impossible. You can always find joy and love in even the simplest things of life like tea or coffee. It’s not just the taste that makes you happy but it's also the love of that particular thing. Even a small thing like tea can cheer you up if you allow your mind to find love and peace in it. You can find love anywhere anytime. Let’s just take an example. It’s a hot summer day. You are really busy in the office. You are not in a good mood. You take a break and go outside. You see a garden with fresh and beautiful flowers. The fragrance and the beauty of the flowers are making your mood better. The flowers love you. It’s nature love for you. It is up to you that whether you remain irritated or you enjoy little things like flowers and find love from them. A few years ago I was rowing across the English Channel with my two sons from Mont St Michel in France to St Michaels Mount in England. It was a pretty difficult crossing with massive tides pulling and pushing us, huge tankers to avoid in the main channel and cold blustery conditions. To make matters worse we were also affected by sickness. Everything looked and felt grim. Then, on the third day we came through dawn and into a magical ‘half light’ period where the sea appeared glassy and silky. To our amazement a large (15 foot) pilot whale came up alongside us for about 10 ten minutes or so, inquisitive, playful, beautiful. The sight of that reminded us all that despite what might appear to be a grim situation, there is beauty all around us, all the time... The optimistic thinking is one of the main factors in finding love in everything. Optimism means that you find positiveness in everything that is happening in your life, for example, if you lose a job. It would definitely be a sad/depressing thing for you. But if you think positively, you may come to a realization that the job was not suitable for you. Losing it is giving you a chance to find another job that is more suitable for you. This optimism is the first step in reshaping your mind to find love in every single thing of the universe. When that optimism is adopted by you, you can face any problem literally any problem with a smile on your face. That will allow your mind to look deeply and closely in things around you. You’ll be able to create the sense of spirituality in you. It is the sense of looking and focusing on life and finding its meaning. We are sent here for some purpose. Our purpose is not to just wake up and follow our daily routine. It is far beyond than that. God/Source has created us to look deeper into nature and find our identity. When we focus on positive things and start loving things we find this purpose. Love is the ultimate factor of this life. So, in order to live a happy life, we must always love ourselves (but should not be a narcissist) and love everything around us. We must focus on positive things and avoid negative things. Even if negative things start ruling over our life we must always find something positive in those things and don’t let the negativity of this world ruin our inner tranquility. If you could sustain lasting motivation, how much more successful would you be? Wouldn’t it make a dramatic difference to your life?
I am sure you will agree with me that actually getting motivated can be a bit of a struggle sometimes! This past week, my family and myself have been moving house, and there were times when I felt less than motivated! I just had to remind myself of the smaller yet important steps to remain focused and motivated. These are seven tips to help stay motivated and to achieve much more... Tip 1. See your Success and Love it. Success is not achieved accidentally. It is a systematic, deliberate process of deciding what you want to do with your life, what you will do when you get there, and what the steps are to get you where you want to be. One of the most important aspects of success is the ability to visualize your path and stay focused on your goal until you reach it. More so, really engage your heart and love the visualisation you are making for yourself (and others). Tip 2. Imagine what you can do – its beautiful! The sooner you envision your dreams and develop a plan to turn them into reality, the faster you will accomplish your goals. Mental pictures are a mechanism to lead you down the path of true independence and motivation. Your imagination is like a preview of your future. If you don't use your imagination your life will remain mundane and unfulfilling. Tip 3. Get on with it! Overcoming procrastination is the first step in helping you create the lifestyle you desire. You must change the habits and behaviours that led you to procrastinate in the first place. Change is a slow process so be sure to reward yourself along the way for small achievements. Instead of focusing on the difficulty of a large task, break it into smaller jobs and create a timeline for finishing them. Tip 4. Take on life in small chunks. Several small jobs done over time are much more manageable that one large task with no end in sight. You'll be astonished at how much you can get done if you concentrate on one thing at a time instead of cluttering your mind with multiple tasks. Try tackling the more undesirable tasks early in the day so that by afternoon you can pursue more pleasant activities. Tip 5. Get organised! Relieve yourself of the pressure created by clutter in your office or home. Develop a filing system, rid yourself of unnecessary papers, and give yourself an organized place to work. When you exercise self-discipline in your surroundings as well as your behaviours, you will make major strides in accomplishing your goals in a shorter period of time. No matter what is happening around you, keep your mind focused on the reward you'll receive by reaching your goals. Tip 6. Keep away from naysayers! If people or outside forces distract you, use the power of the human mind to block out what impedes your progress and concentrate solely on the task at hand. You will make remarkable progress by refusing to let others alter the path you have chosen. Overcoming procrastination and staying motivated is the way to lifetime success and happiness. You'll achieve your goals rapidly when you stay focused on your destination and the rewards that will follow. Tip 7. Take time to reflect. Review your habits and way of thinking to determine what you are visualizing most of the time. If your visions do not lead you in the direction of accomplishing your goals, then you must change them. Discipline yourself to concentrate on your goals the majority of the time, and if you stray from the path, get promptly back on. Imagine what the rewards will be when you finally reach your destination and keep that thought foremost in your mind. Well, those are my 7 tips for sustaining motivation - but do you what? Its done to one thing and one thing only - YOU! So go make a difference! This week I have been moving house, helping to continue build a house, working on potential leads for the future and all the while trying to remain sane!
Sound familiar? There’s a lot going on in our lives, and every now and then we need to remind ourselves to ‘calm’. I also like to get inspiration from others around me. During these times, sometimes we all need a little push to give us more energy to move forward, to move past the obstacles and to be ready for the challenges that life throws our way. I like to remind myself of what would appear to be obvious statements but are so good at ‘calming’ ourselves: 1) The best is yet to come. Our present isn’t our future. The only fundamental law in nature is change. If things aren’t looking good now, don’t worry! It will change. Just hold yourself up and breathe. 2) Bad things can lead to good things. It is our perception that creates negative realities in our head. The truth is, the universe is indifferent. You never know what good can come out of a bad experience. 3) Keep moving Life moves on. If you feel like you are in a bad relationship, move. If you hate your job, quit. You do have choices. Sometimes it just takes courage to accept that you’re not happy and move. 4) Let go of the past No matter how bad the past may have been, it is still an illusion. Now is all that exists. If you keep thinking about the past and regretting things, you will never be able to move on and live in the present moment. Learn the lessons from the past and start again. 5) It’s probably not meant for you. No matter how much hard work you put in, you can’t control everything. Sometimes acceptance is necessary in life because everything won’t turn out the way you want it to be. Move on and realize that there are always other opportunities waiting for you. 6) Remember who you are. Our lives get so busy, we often forget who we truly are. Sometimes you need to take a break to gather your thoughts and clear your mind. 7) Mingle with the young. We think we’re so rational and practical but we often misinterpret the simplicity of life. Life is about having fun and making the most of the present moment. 8) Listen. You do not need arguments or pointless conversations. We can often learn more by listening to understand rather than by listening to reply. I teach communication skills for leaders, and I often refer to the ‘cosmetic’ listening level, where the recipient is not listening at all. They are there in front of you only for show. Do not be a cosmetic listener. 9) Listen to your heart. Overthinking often leads to hesitation and anger. It’s better to switch off and get in touch with what you truly feel is important in life. Forget about judgments and talk to yourself. The heart is the best place to start, and is the one place I will always go to first when under pressure. What does your heart say to you? 10) No need to figure out everything. So many of us don’t progress in life because the perfect opportunity doesn’t present itself. The truth is, nothing is ever perfect. Sometimes you just need to move on, no matter if it isn’t perfect. 11) Don’t stop believing. Hope is the most powerful emotion we have. If we aren’t optimistic that the future will be better, then it likely won’t be. Give yourself hope that things will change for the better, they will! |
